Our goal with every project is to transform any space - whether it's your yard, patio, or rooftop - into the spot you start your day, and where you pick ingredients before dinner each night. We strive to design the type of comfortable and beautiful garden that provides both the ingredients for the meal, and a prime location for you to eat it.
Here are a few of our guiding principles to help us achieve that goal:
- Customized aesthetics - since your garden is a continuation of your existing living space (and you) we work closely with every client to customize each job to match their style and tastes.
- Reclaimed materials - not only are reclaimed materials like lumber, terra cotta and cement a more responsible construction choice, they often look better anyway.
- Water efficiency - edible plants tend to be thirsty and we design efficient drip irrigation systems for our gardens to make sure we maximize every single drop with no waste.
- Durability - typical garden bed construction is relatively temporary and will last for less than a decade. We use traditional construction techniques and joinery that double the lifetime of garden hardscaping, so that there is less waste of resources and money in the future.
- Looking beyond the fence - we try to create a garden that is a good neighbor to the surrounding ecosystem. We use organic soil and compost, mix in flowers for the bees, and use native ornamentals for drought resistance.
